Sunday was Flag Day. I saw no media coverage so I decided to make some coverage. The flag is a symbol of unification. I think the flying of the flag best symbolizes our uniquely American motto: Let Freedom Ring!

You all know I think that freedom includes freedom from harm and that is why I am a lawyer- to prevent harm and to seek redress, recompense and reformation for harm that has occurred. Injustice stirs my blood and it is why I became an advocate as a lawyer.

Codifying Morality

As Dr. King put it: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” This is a fundamental truth I imbibe in my practice of public benefiting law. Dr, King goes on to note that “We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied to a single garment of destiny.”

This cannot be said more accurately although the statement is enhanced when we consider the understanding of Mary Baker Eddy who stated firmly in the 1890’s: “Justice is the moral signification of law.”

Of course- we codify morality and it starts with freedom including freedom from harm. This is the cause my life is donated to even as it is in the realm of protecting the planet and its people through enforcement of environmental protection laws.
